I mean as someone who grew up pretty priviledged than lost it all and am now in extreme poverty fighting intermittent homelessness due to a disabling health condition.
I can say, maybe everyone suffers, but the degrees of suffering are so different that what a privileged person considers suffering wouldn’t even be a minor issue to those who suffer most.
People in that quadrant would say, you have to be miserable, or it would ruin their lives… somehow. Like human comfort is zero-sum. In fact, the worse it gets for you, the better-off they must be… somehow.
