I used to work in a call center. Some guy in Alabama called in. I later told my coworker that I just heard the most stereotypical accent. He asked if it was a really strong southern accent. I said yes and elaborated he sounded black. Indeed black southern accent is a thing. My coworker, who is black himself, had no issue as I was just describing it as it is.
