I’ll add, rehashing the same thing over and over again, It’s hard to keep the money flowing in. Why would I buy a new system and pay for the same (or essentially) the same games again? Super Mario version 542 is not bringing anything new to the table.
That’s a little disingenuous, each iteration of Mario tries to be a study in novel movement controls, and the stories are just postmodern window dressing in service of that.
