It’s caveman tribe dynamics. That’s all there is to conservatism. There is nothing else in their moral universe. There’s some right and proper hierarchy, where the people above you are right and smart and handsome, and it’s your job to figure out how, or you’ve fucked up and betrayed the tribe. Any criticism is tantamount to saying they deserve to be beneath you. We had to invent god as a workaround.
