Xob made a good vid about it. Basically, we have total freedom to do whatever we want outside of Valve’s official servers/matchmaking. (As long as it doesn’t break Valve’s rules, like monetizing the mods).
How that will ultimately manifest and what projects the community will flock to remains to be seen. But the possibilities are quite literally endless. All we can do is wait.
What are the ramifications of this? I understand source code is valuable but what projects are we expecting?
