Both have their advantages. I personally moved from car commute to eBike because my commute is quite long and much too tiring to do with an accoustic bike.
And honestly I fell in love with ebikes, I think they are a great alternative! And in your case the best is to have the choice depending on the days :)
Bikes or eBikes no matter they are both super fun to ride honestly.
I often opt to use my regular bicycle instead, much higher quality and good exercise! I might feel differently if I had a better ebike though
