I don’t know why, but for some reason images hosted on sopuli don’t open in eternity. It’s like it can’t get the proper mime-type to know it’s an image, or something. I wonder if it just looks at the URL for that instead.

Anyways, cute bocchi is cute. (:

For me, the link is: https://sopuli.xyz/api/v3/image_proxy?url=https%3A%2F%2Ffiles.catbox.moe%2Fnz8hu7.webp

So it looks like sopuli is at least proxying the link.

More likely eternity is trying to use the re-hosted thumbnail to save bandwidth and never loads the full image as backup.

Hmm. The rehosted thumbnail shows up fine. It’s the full quality image that doesn’t load in eternity, whereas it does seem to on other instances. It just prompts me with what Lemmy client I want to load the link in.

Clicking Eternity just brings up the menu again.

Edit: seems to not work in voyager or jerboa either:

Then I have no idea what’s happening, assuming catbox images load for you in a browser, it’s not blocked.

Or, eternity just doesn’t know what to do with an instance like sopuli which doesn’t proxy a full quality file. The catbox file url should be used, that’s what’s in the post. But I’m aware that some clients ALWAYS load files from the instance, even when an external image host was used, and hence fail to load the file when there is no proxied file.
