I went searching for something today and instinctually clicked on a reddit link. Fortunately the sub was dark for the protest anyway, but it’s crazy how ingrained in me it is to go to reddit for everything.

Unfortunately now we’re going to have to get used to clicking on those clickbait tech articles like “TOP 10 FACEBOOK ALTERNATIVES 2023” to find information, and weed out the crappy blogs.

I did the exact same thing. I forgot what I was looking for (something stupid, like thoughts on a particular robovac or something?) and the sub was dark, thank goodness. I have found it easy to avoid going on reddit on my phone, as I just deleted Apollo, but when I’m searching for information, I do tend to gravitate towards reddit links still.

Hopefully as time goes on, that information will be on sites like Lemmy instead. Or maybe blogs will come back full swing and will be the go to from now on, haha.
