Its a shame that they did that, especially since the largest neurodivergent community on lemmy was over there, but for anyone who calls this instance or lemmy.world home I saw we make this the new one.

WTF i have to catch up with that. Do the Lemmy wars already start?
TBH, now i’m glad i noticed early what kind of community would gather there, and went to make my main account somewhere else. Well, let’s see if we can analyse some underlying patterns there, shall we? (in order to get this aligned with the intended theme of this community … i’m still composing/channeling a sticky post)

I can somehow sympathise with it when people feel insecure in a public space, and they’d rather be able to lock the door. (well i feel like that myself and i’m still uncertain if i should actually expose myself here)
What many (seem to!) fail to see, though – that is if one were to wall themselves off, that will create an echo chamber, and that again will not foster a healing. It will be dividing instead of connecting. I see that pattern mirrored in many aspects of societies.
It would certainly be more easy to gain understanding and sympathy when people could actually meet face-to-face. “In the internet”, certain neuronal triggers that happen on meeting another human are simply missing, so some people’s natural attack inhibition might not work.
