I showed my kid this ancient video when they got into battle tech. It might look and sound like crap now, but I was so vindicated when they made me play it three more times.
“Ammunition level… Critical”
Aah. This was the point where I realized the joy of stompy metal feet.
I love, all of this. Immediately this brought me back to the beginning. I’ve probably watched this intro hundreds of time.
Ditto. Do you know a good game these days to get that old mech sim feeling? There are lots of mech games now, but the few I’ve tried are just normal shooters with clanking sounds.
Look for Mech Merc Company on steam. It keeps the spirit of the old MW games but sadly no battletech IP
I have found mechwarrior 5 to still capture the classic feel, myself. I have a few mods on though, the mech customization made me sad until I opened it up.
Really want clan mechs in there though. Due to my mechwarrior 2 background, it doesn’t feel right to not have image enhancement.
What mods do you recommend? Would it be lacking if I went with the Xbox version?
Nah it’s pretty good without mods, the mech customization is just a lot more limited.
Yet Another Clan Mech adds a bunch of IIC variants and a handful of Clan mechs. (Make sure to get Yet Another Weapon Clan too)
