I don’t like either. I used to use Sol Calendar but the app is out of the app store, and Sunrise Calendar, which got absorbed by Microsoft. I haven’t found a good replacement and I’d love suggestions.

Proton calendar. It has a very nice interface and privacy respecting company behind it
This is my final decision. I’m just glad it has light mode because I hate dark mode calendars.
I’m testing it now, I noticed that there’s no search feature (in the android app anyway) Seems like a crazy omission
