I mean… you’re not wrong per se, but it’s definitely sugar coating things. The US was one of if not the most Nazi friendly country outside of the Axis Powers themselves, and it intended to stay neutral in the war. Even after Pearl Harbor, the US only declared war on Japan not the Axis as a whole; it was Hitlers beyond idiotic decision to declare war on the US in retaliation for our declaration on Japan that caused the US to finally enter the war proper.
