    Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) chief executive, Andrew McKellar, slammed the move…

    It’s being “slammed” by one of the peak business lobbyist bodies in Australia, which is unsurprising in the least.

    The context of this and politics in Australia is that it’s dominated by two main factions:

    • LNP who believes in unchecked free market capitalism (except when it’s inconvenience to them or their mates which is most of the time), whom the ACCI support, and
    • Labor, which is mostly controlled by unions and is currently in power federally and in most states.

    Controversially however, Labor have embraced more centralist/conservative ideals lately which is why despite unions being in control the country isn’t seeing a massive swing towards left-sided politics.
