      Ah. I was using rough numbers, but it looks like I overestimated the % of conservatives who support Trump right now. Presently, around 62% of them support him. I think I was recalling data from an earlier time, because it stuck in my head. But the 75% estimate comes from the following two recently published stats: Trump’s voters trust him more than they trust friends and family and Percentage of Republicans who think Biden’s 2020 win was illegitimate ticks back up near 70%.

      So, to recalculate, that’s around 22% of the U.S. population or roughly 72 million people that treat him like a demigod. Admittedly not as bleak in pure numbers, but still terrifying. And, notably, if you eliminate DeSantis and give his percentage of GOP support (16%) to Trump, it’s back up at 78%, and I’m willing to bet a significant portion of those voters also believe the 2020 election was stolen.
