minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink-3•10 months agoI doubt a president getting arrested is that big of a history compared to abolishing slavery or a war. It will be a footnote, or a quiz question for sure. But nothing more.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink7•10 months agoUh huh, just like how people forgot Nixon and his peace signs.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish-1•10 months agoNo pictures of that were in any textbooks I had. Things that paint the US in a negative light tend to be glossed over in US schools - at least, they were when I was in it ages ago. Can’t imagine that’s changed much.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink1•10 months agoBruh, I’m pretty sure your textbooks covered Watergate, assuming you went to school after it. Now, maybe your school and/or teacher sucked and tried to cram it into their one hour coverage of Vietnam, but it was in there, I promise. (Unless you went to a religious school, then I’ll believe any claim you make but note that it isn’t typical)
