That sounds like a pretty good salary, but I have heard that US salaries are much higher than in my country, because folks are almost wholly (individually) responsible for looking after their basic needs, including retirement (? but I think medicaid does a lot?).

Do you get to work from home at least? My sister’s worked phones for over a decade now, mostly from home, and looks like she’ll probably retire off of that job. Certainly not living large, but comfortable.

Yeah, we don’t have humanitary laws. No healthcare, we famously stated food is not a human right, etc. That would be scary echo socialllliiiism… so yeah when I get cancer (WV are more likely to get cancer than other states) I’ll just go broke and lose my house and land to Blackrock or Vanguard invested companies… probably.

Damn, stay strong. And maybe get insurance? I don’t know what else to say.

Quick intro to the near uselessness of US insurance. 30% of biweekly paycheck for my insurance. $6k deductible (for my family of 3) and then coverage is for about 60% in network or 40% out of network. Whereas a hospital room alone is $800 per day.

I would gladly give up more in taxes to be rid of insurance here. Healthcare is being touted as a bogeyman, just to support private interests…

They do the same thing everywhere, even when you get the universal healthcare, you need to constantly defend it. Rich people just cannot stand being treated the same way as everyone else.

                But it’s worth the struggle.
