    That’s not… that’s not the same thing at all. Comedy being correct-ish is fundamentally different from a news show being fluff. Only one of those is failing to deliver on its premise.

    Stewart criticized the big cable news shows for selling entertainment as news. But, in wrapping up the news in nice comedy packaging, wasn’t “The Daily Show” also kind of doing that?

    No! It was doing exactly the opposite!

    Joking about headlines is not the same thing as headlines being a joke! “Most stand-up comedians don’t fact-check their routines” because they’re not joking about facts.
