Today, after careful consideration and evaluation of recent events, we have decided to defederate from Lemmygrad.
Regrettably, we have observed a significant increase in hate speech and calls to violence originating from the Lemmygrad instance. Due to the severity of the posts and comments, we are not waiting for the next Lemmy update that will allow users to block instances.
At Lemmy.world, we have always strived to foster an inclusive and welcoming user environment. However, recent posts and comments from Lemmygrad have clearly violated our server rules and, more importantly, our core values. We firmly believe that hate speech and incitement of violence have no place in our community, regardless of personal beliefs or affiliations.
As always, we encourage all users to report any content they deem inappropriate or harmful. No matter one’s stance in any conflict, Lemmy.world will always take immediate action to remove and ban any posts or comments that incite violence or propagate hatred.
We encourage everyone to continue engaging in discussions within the boundaries of respect and understanding. As we move forward with this decision, we remain committed to providing all community members with a safe and welcoming space. Marxists are the bane of this site. I understand that the developers are Marxist and so this always be a persistent issue, but you have to understand one way or another that there’s a reason why Marxists aren’t welcome in most places. There is a reason why people all around the world despise them and it isn’t because they’re just immature or annoying.
Even if ignore all the horrific history that happened under Marxism and the implications of supporting that, and focus exclusively on modern Marxists on this site, you’ll immediately see some of the most vile shit on the internet. You’ve got crime and violence advocacy, dictator apologizers, tyrannical regime support, terrorist sympathizing, victim blaming, antisemitism, genocide denial, disgusting amounts of hate, conspiracy theories, literal propaganda, and all of this is packaged with zero amounts of decency. Marxists on the internet somehow manage to be worse than /pol/ in toxicity, and /pol/ is notorious for how toxic it is.
I personally have a high tolerance for bullshit views. I am willing to engage with Marxists if they appear to at least have a moral compass, but the reality is that most of them don’t. They really are either mind numbingly stupid or straight up evil, and a lot of cases it’s both. Marxists are in the same tier of trash as neo nazis and theocrats. Equally as stupid, equally as violent, equally as ignorant, equally as hateful, and equally as tyrannical. They are the lowest of the low. This was something that was supposed to happen a looooong time ago. I’m surprised it took this long for this instance to defederate, but better late than never.
