Install newpipe with f-droid.
Remember to go into Apps and click on Newpipe and change default urls so Android opens all the YouTube urls with Newpipe.
After that, it’s heaven on mobile.
I agree, though I personally use the NewPipe x SponsorBlock fork of it.
You can get that for Android TV. YouTube from television with no ads or sponsor segments is sweet.
