More likely trying to enable democracy and a functional economy to once again exist in Venezuela.

No they didn’t. That was the result of years of absolutely moronic economic and monetary policy combined with a ton of theft by people at the top levels of government and the national oil company.

The USA isn’t helping Venezuela’s government to steal from it’s people since they stopped getting a cut.

The US government does not care about Venezuela’s or any other countries economy, including its own. This has been demonstrated for 100 years.

The USA cares very much about a functioning economy in Venezuela. That’s why they sanction the leaders who keep stealing money from PVDSA and the children of leaders who somehow are worth millions despite never making more than thousands of dollars.

Yes that is a significant part of it. They also wish Venezuela’s agricultural industry functioned because they were a significant food producer before Chavez’ reforms gutted that sector.

Personally I just want El Rey’s Venezuelan chocolate because I can be fairly sure child slavery wasn’t involved in the production of it and it was amazing.
