yes, because no ads basically means my antivirus software has nothing to do. Creators have no choice over what ads are served up with the content and 99% of ads are loaded with malware whether you click on them or not.
Creators need to come up with better ways to monetise their content instead of relying on them.
My antivirus loadout for computer-illiterate relatives’ computers used to be intense and involve multiple pieces of software. Now it’s just uBlock Origin, Windows Defender, and turn on auto-update on everything. Because if you’re running a good ad blocker in an up-to-date browser on an up-to-date OS and your techie relative puts the fear of god into you about downloading weird executables you’re basically fine currently.
