To be clear, not talking about this community, obviously 😛.
What’s the point of writing down rules, if mods just do what they want? But I suppose that’s the risk you take when you call someone a liar in a small community; they might be a mod.
Edit: I’m not trying to say that mods suck, they perform a useful and often thankless job. Just that it can be difficult for small communities to get a healthy number of good mods, which can become a problem.
It wasn’t refuted.
Their response… was my argument. They made the exact comparison I was making, by suggesting the comparison.
What the fuck, people.
That’s not what I read. You said go on, make the argument. Then Flying Squid made the argument - christian evangelists have this strange religious belief about Jesus returning to Israel or whatever. And then you reply “yeah so when they talk about Islam its just racism” which is a separate argument, but you try to bridge that comparison. Then you get mad at Flying Squid that it doesn’t work, and you get mad at us for noticing the same thing.
And you want us to see you in the right but when we don’t we’re met with “what the fuck, people?” And “fuck the lot of you” 🤣
Yes: I said, go on, make the argument, tee up that comparison. I am explicitly suggesting the comparison, from the get-go.
No. It’s the comparison. It’s the direct comparison. It’s the comparison I was making, the entire time.
The central fucking point was drawing a parallel between two forms of disguising crass political opinions as high-minded discussion of religion. It’s even the same right-wing cranks doing both forms. So when someone showed up late to say ‘but they’re just disguising crass etc.!’ the response is, yeah, exactly, thanks for spelling it out I guess.
At no point. Not even now.
Yes, actually, because y’all read like five separate explanations and still go ‘nah you must’ve meant the opposite of what you keep saying, calm down honey.’
If you REFUSE a good-faith reading - the words I write don’t fucking matter.
