Foreword: I believe that the Chinese model is superior to western “work/life” balance and that the extra “free” time given to employees is no longer sustainable as of today’s economy, unless it is used for a second job.

Given this, I don’t quite get the difference between “sacrificing for the country”, as Indian entrepreneurs are advocating for, and the Chinese model. Why do we Lemmings tend to blame India for being exploitative but praise China for being fair?

Only privileged tankies are praising China. Also fuck the Chinese 996 model. Give me “western” work/life balance anytime of the week. That exploitative shit is not sustainable for the economy and the country. Like nobody is having children in China, South Korea and Japan, because they don’t have the time and money to raise them.

Nobody is having children even in western Europe, because of the same reason (lack of time and money). But this is another thing and does not relate to economic sustainability. Having reduced working time with high salaries/benefits makes EU western industries much less competitive than Asian counterparts and those firms are doomed to close.

Today’s economies are richer than ever, it’s the most sustainable it has ever been.

How anyone can simp for 996 is ridiculous.

Also most of Lemmy does not like China, that’s only the tankies.

Because liberal ‘reforms’ resulted in actually increased standard of living in China for everyone while in India only top 10% benefited. There is a reason why China is near first world in Global Hunger Index while India is near the bottom.

I didn’t say neither India nor China is ‘fair’ or ‘exploitative’ in the first comment. The conditions are completely different. What are you talking about?
