oh they’re so certain about what others are about to do unto them that they just see that as “gettin the drop on em, they can’t get you if you get them first, and they WILL get you if you don’t” there’s no such thing as an other that won’t get you. only an other that you got first.
Since they are unable to empathize and assume everyone thinks like they do, they project actions that they would take into the other and assume they’d (also) do the worst
