    I’m hoping to keep my old phone going for a while, but I’d be really surprised if whatever replaces it needs something other than USB-C PD for charging. If I did need another of those, again, $15 isn’t enough to be a factor in my smartphone purchase.

    Yes, I’m aware a few phones have some proprietary ultra-fast charging protocol. They’ll still charge from a standard power supply, just not as fast (and I think most of those do include their special power supply).

      I like having a few… Living room, bedroom, office, car. Not to mention all the devices I have that can be charged with them. I’m not sure I could ever have too many wall warts and USB-C cables lol.

      And there will always be people buying their first phone that will now need to dish out extra money for shit that should have been in the box.

        I think we’re just going in circles now. Of course sometimes it’s useful to have a power supply included with a phone, but not everyone needs one when they buy a new phone, so it made sense to unbundle.

        More people seem upset about this, which is easily remedied with a low-cost purchase than the loss of features like headphone jacks and SD cards, which are not.
