The defense on Reddit was always “NOT EVERY1 ENGLISH FIRST LANGUAGE” I don’t have the largest sample size, but I’ve never met someone who makes this mistake whose first language isn’t English.

My favorite was the would of/would’ve bot.
I feel like I haven’t seen a single person use “could of” or “would of” here.
