I feel like conspiracies about gender does not really sound right. At first I was looking to see what they were but its the old projection they have about grooming or whatnot.

Before it was gender it was “the gays.” Before it was the gays, it was feminists. Before feminists, it was black people. It’s always the same combination of them coming after your children and your wives and your masculinity. The same fears regurgitated onto different “others,” generation after generation.

Familiarize yourself with QAnon. The term “groomer” isn’t being thrown around by accident. There is a large volume of right wing conspiracies centered on the idea that there’s a left-wing cabal preying on children. Claiming members of the LGBT community are pedophiles is part of that horrifying tapestry.

I completely understand your comment but I tell ya. Im about as familiar as I ever want to be with QAnon. Unfortunately I likely will know more about them despite this (unless they just die)

Absolutely you will. The right wing is deeply infected by these conspiracy theories. Hell, whole chunks of the UCP platform were inspired by them (see: the 15 minute city conspiracy, anti-trans policies, anti-vax policies, etc) thanks to the TBA nutjobs. Far better to know and understand it now, because the flywheel has only just started spinning up

Before QAnon there was the Satanic Panic. That convinced people daycares were using children in satanic rituals. I’m sure there was something before that too.

Oh I never claimed these conspiracy theories are new. QAnon and related are just modern recycling of age old ideas, mixed and remixed with the speed of the internet. But they’re conspiracy theories nevertheless.
