Looks like the end of league of legends on Linux. Hopefully with the growing popularity we see some support in the future.
That’s my opinion too, but it’s a fantastic game for the right person.
It has a good mix of strategy and tactics, which is exactly what a competitive game should have. If you’re looking for a competitive game that doesn’t really benefit from twitch reflexes, it’s hard to beat. I recommend people try it or something similar (e.g. Dota 2) at least once. It’s not for me, but I don’t regret few hours I spent with it.
As a long time Dota player, I never could take LoL seriously.
I played it when it released, as W3 engine sucked, and LoL allowed reconnects and match-making.
But the game is absolutely soulless. Compared to Dota, it’s a hollowed out husk. I get that making it simple opened up the genre for more people, but it just sucks.
Some years ago I tried watching finals of the top league tournament. 5 times same champs doing the same shit over and over again. Who thinks that’s interesting?
IDK, but my coworker loved it and he’s a smart dude (Ph.D in astronomy, plays a bunch of other games). Then again, I personally don’t like MP games much at all, so I’m the wrong person to ask.
