          Declaring asylum seekers to be criminals without hearing their asylum claim is a contributing factor to my characterizing Trump’s separation policy as crime against humanity.

            I didn’t see anything in your source that indicates asylum seekers were deemed criminals without hearing their asylum claim.

            Illegally immigrating is a crime, regardless if they claim asylum after they get caught.

              One of the components of a crime against humanity is that it is part of an official domestic law or policy, or carried out by officials in their official capacity.

                I didnt say requesting asylum was a crime. I said illegally immigrating was.
