The company and the vehicles themselves are still pretty cool. The brand image has suffered a bit due to the embarrassing antics of its CEO.

I think the cars themselves have developed more of a reputation as having questionable build quality, and the company has a reputation for treating it’s workers badly and lying about vehicle range.

The biggest issue I have with Tesla vehicles are the controls. Why can’t they just make it like a normal car, with normal buttons and knobs? I hated having to find my way through the touch interface to do simple things like adjust the mirrors.

I drove a rental 2024 Highlander for a week. It had a ton of buttons on the steering wheel, center console, driver side door, like three different stalks with a ton of different knobs, and a shitty display with a slow, unresponsive OS. Having everything on the Tesla display is a pain but at least you can just search for what you’re looking for. I could never find anything on my rental. I’d rather have things be over simplified than over complicated.
