Why do people say zoomers are super liberal?

Look at music now; it’s materialistic and conformity. The punk scene is a minority, rap being about the struggles of life is a minority

Zoomers lean more left than previous generations, in larger quantities and as a percentage, even including increased far-right zoomers as compared to previous generations.

Modern pop music being materialistic and conformist is just the music industry, there’s tons of anticapitalist modern punk if you look for it.

That’s actually now true, at least where I live. The girls tend to be more left leaning while the boys tend to be more right leaning.

The difference between genders on political affiliation is small, but present, yes, but overall the trend is to the left.

That’s not really what I mean.

Look I turned 40 a few months ago an a few weeks ago I got a newspaper subscription, somehow I turned into my father…

Anyway, a few days ago I was reading this article and it was about (Dutch) GenZ (I want to say kids but adults is probably also true).

The article was about how the GenZ girls are mostly left and pretty far left. Old people will probably describe them as woke.

But what was pretty interesting (and maybe scary) to me is that a lot of the GenZ boys are pretty conservative. Lots of them follow “alpha male” influencers and lots of them even really like Andrew Tate. They sort of believe in this alpha get money and girls mindset. They have some graphs about other countries, where in south Korea it had the biggest gap between boys on the right and girls on the left.

I just looked it up (my newspaper also can be viewed digitally)

It’s in Dutch but its probably understandable (mannen are males, vrouwen are females).

This is the source but it’s dutch and behind a paywall

            http://digitalekrant.trouw.nl/trouw/2101/article/1987524/34/1/render/?token=0ba4dd5e64ebc6c01e4705ca84dbe8c9&vl_app_id=be.persgroep.red.mobile.android.trn&vl_app_version=19.1.0&vl_platform=android

This is the head of the image translated

Political gap between young men and women has grown In many countries, young men (18-29) have become more conservative in recent years, while young women have become more progressive. Score: the percentage of progressive minus conservative young adults, based on various long-term studies.

You’re just repeating what I said and misinterpreting the statistics. Gen Z is far more radical on both ends, but the median Gen Z person is more to the left than previous generations. Gen Z is not more conservative overall, just the fringe end is more fascist.

But the stats don’t put them further left than millennials

If we only focus on the left then we have 56 thinking it’s man made for millennials and 54 for Zoomers. So where do you get more left from?

If we say it’s margin of error and they are the same then where do you get more left from?

More radicalization on both ends, like I said. If the average conservative millenial isn’t as insane as the average conservative Gen Z, it can give you the illusion that there are more.

              Easy enough.

But the “leaning more to the left” comes from “you promised and didn’t deliver so fuck you” place. And it’s not only young people. We’ve been told for decades that “If you work hard you’ll succeed”, you have to defend your country so your country can help you when you need it" and shit like that. But those are lies the upper class tells everyone else.

Well, sure, but I’d say radicalization increasing on both ends is more because of the general decay of Capitalism. As Capitalism gets increasingly fucked, people seek answers, and while the general trend is to the left, there are also more fascists.

Since when do musical lyrics irrevocably dictate political party affiliation?

      This isn’t a binary choice.

By your standards those that listen to country music would actually give a shit about this country and their fellow person while driving trucks and drinking beer. They only get the last two.

That’s because people figured out a formula to make the most widely accessible and profitable music possible. Its a process that isn’t exclusive to music or gen z, and I fail to see how its relevant.

Well we’re also seeing a trend of younger men falling for the manosphere type bullshit. It’s a weird divide. Lots of younger people in general are leaning more into socialism, too. But yeah sweeping generalizations either way aren’t representative of reality

Pretty much. Look at most countries around the world. In South East Asia, in the Philippines and Indonesia the Gen Z just reelected their dictators.

Well for one you said it’s a minority, as if that’s a bad thing. When that’s what punk is, a minority art movement that breaks the rules of the establishment. Until it becomes the establishment.

It’s also not just a bunch of kids plinking away at guitars. Look at the PC Music label and hyperpop in general, that’s punk.

Nor does it need to be filled with angst and lyrics with the subtlety of a brick to the bullocks.

Materialism and conformity. Hmm, where have I heard these as the basis of political theory before?

      Oh right, Marxism.

LOL imagine calling the gentlest generation of people to be born in human history “Karens”.

Predilection to outrage is not a trait usually associated with children.

Tell me you’ve never been around children without telling me you’ve never been around children before.

I really don’t want to see your answer, but as a rhetorical for your own purposes, you should have defined what a “Karen Generation” is. That will mean something different for everyone.
