    You can always embody other stereotypes, like speedrunning, or starting a webcomic.

      It’s not so much needing to embody all stereotypes, but that this one stereotype is being stated here as “The Average” with components that are mandatory, per the text. That is restrictive language.

      If knee highs are an accessory used by people and/or subcultures in the Linux community that’s great, but just like I shouldn’t tell people my big bushy beard is mandatory, nobody’s lifestyle choices should be mandatory in regards to sharing and discussing code with each other, which is ultimately the focus of FOSS spaces.
