Now this is actually seismic. The pattern of large scale ownership has been allowed for centuries, resulting in some extremely concentrated ownership, the top 20 own like 66% kind of thing. And they run it for themselves of course. This you could argue has resulted in the depopulation of the Highlands, and the growth of the central belt, but with remote office work becoming the norm a future of plurality ownership and new villages (or re-inhabiting abandoned sites) is easy to imagine. Entrepreneurs could literally buy parcels, develop a street, and sell each house. Housing co-ops could spring from the ground. Councils might be able to plan new towns again. You, yes you, could even start a farming business (build a guesthouse on site for diversification of income)
