Organizers of the Games promise to slash greenhouse gas emissions by re-using historic buildings, adding bike lanes, even putting solar panels on the Seine. Will it work?
Yeah, and one of my biggest worries is that if it isn’t ready in time, they may choose to bullshit their way through to avoid “wasting money”. Ofc, even if it isn’t swimmable during the Olympics, that doesn’t mean the investment is a waste, but if they make poor choices as deadlines approach, it’ll completely destroy public trust in the project and undermine the whole effort.
It’s an incredible achievement, hopefully they’ll see it through properly (this includes maintaining the infrastructure once things are greenlit)
