Both strong options with similar goals that continue to improve each year. Only one power source is a bad idea anyways.
Welcome to conservative policy. Nuclear is a red herring used by them to divide the left on climate change so they can continue to promote coal, gas, and oil while pretending to be green by claiming nuclear is good.
Every time with conservatives it’s like, “We’re building solar”
“No, nuclear is better.”
“Okay vote to build nuclear and we’ll vote with you”
“No.”
“Then we’ll vote to build solar since it’s cheap and quick.”
“Also no. We should build more fracking drills and pipelines instead.”
As someone on the left
We should be building both solar and nuclear plants
And of course wind as well
100%, though it’s really really hard to build nuclear with the number of NIMBYs in the US.
Conservatives love nuclear because there’s sooo much money they can grift. The only thing better for cost overruns is the defense industry.
