Watched two matches: Chelsea Vs Brighton & City Vs Tottenham and both games had huge referee-ing errors at the end…How did Brighton not get a corner kick when the ball clearly hits a Chelsea player and goes out the line…And why did the referee stop Silva’s 1v1 chance against Tottenham to award a foul in favour of city…I am neither a brighton nor a city fan but both these decisions angered me so bad…And these smug referees just walk out with their satisfied punchable faces playing with the feelings of the fans and sanctity of our league…This is probably one of the most exciting seasons in recent times and yet we can’t enjoy it to the fullest coz of these incompetent referees…PL should just fire all English referees and import referees from other countries…

Dont just blame the referees. Adingra knew that the ball hit Colvill’s face, still he appealed for a penalty. Sanctity of the game is a joke for players too with blatant simulation in every match. Now referees too are pitching in with their bit.

Refereeing has been bad for a while but this season has just been so much worse than anything before. Needs a complete overhaul with new people but I doubt we will get that.

I’m certain the decision in the Spurs/City game was because the ref blew for the foul immediately but play didn’t stop. He then had no choice but to pull is back.

    That’s my take anyway!

Because Simon Hooper is an absolute turkey. He always has a clueless expression on his face.

Not to mention 2 booked players for Bournemouth committing 2/3 more bookable fouls and staying on the pitch. Laughable referees these days they do it for bants I swear.

New lows? They literally messed up a call so badly they had to completely reevaluate VAR communications

A ref blowing the whistle too soon isn’t a new low.

The City one was a mistake (and I can admit that as a Spurs fan) but not a wrong decision. It was a foul and it was a booking for Royal because he cynically tried to bring Haaland down to waste time.

He’s obviously got caught in two minds whether to pull it up then or not and has ended up getting it arse about face.

There is absolutely no guarantee Grealish would have scored though so City acting like it was a definite goal was the height of arrogance. Davies and Royal were coming round and Vicario is no slouch in these situations either.

Haaland should have been off with a three game ban for screaming abuse in the referee’s face and continuing to scream and swear at him after. The bloke is an absolute twat and they need to come down on these things.

Outside of that one mistake the officiating during that match was outstanding. VAR was barely even needed. What is your standard then? Absolute perfection? That’s unrealistic

The city call, while sucks is completely part of the game. The ref made a split second decision for advantage. You can’t have it both ways. There should be no mistakes with VAR but these on field calls are part of the game
