Ir we’d start to look for responsibility we would need to acknowledge how the EU leaves the mediterranian countries alone in dealing with it humantarily, so they resort to violence which the EU formally scrutinizes but actively created a system of non responsibility and looking the other way form.

This way the northern countries can lie to themselves that they are humanitarians and on a morale highground while making sure that they do not need to deal with providing actual humanitarian support.

That’s why you also rarely find politicians in Germany, France, Denmark or other countries to talk about this, so the media doesn’t report on it in detail eithet.
