Hi there, I’m still new on lemmy and like browsing the front page to find new communities. The thing is that lately a lot of porn is beeing postet that reaches the front page. I have no problem with seeing it when im searching for it, but out in public i feel the blurring really isn’t strong enough. Is there an option to completely hide NSFW posts on the front page?

Except I want to block porn, not all NSFW posts. On this account anyway.

Block the communities you know are going to be an issue, there’s no automatic backend filtering of pornographic images, there’s the blur NSFW option which might be helpful at not displaying stuff while allowing you to see if that’s something you want in your lemmy experience.

I’ve tried filtering lemmynsfw at the instance level but it didn’t seem to work.

Isnt there a setting to blur them in main feeds? Or you could have 2 accounts you just switch between and have 1 with nsfw enabled and one with disabled.

Yeah but then i’d have to reenable that everytime i want to see that content on “certain” communities, i just want to filter it from my frontpage

This is the best thing to do imo. I’ve got this account which hides all nsfw, and another one that has a very different subscription list.

If you want to retain the idea of one account just make sure you check “blur nsfw”. This way you can still view the front page but if you see a blurred picture you can either ignore it. Then you have the option to look at the community it’s posted to and know if it’s porn or just bad language etc.

I’ve tried to filter- instances- lemmynsfw and it does NOT to seem to work? I’m back to blocking each community that comes up, which is a hassle.
