Dumb little first post but I’ve been told it’s kind of shit this year. Apparently you have to pay a fee for some of it? What the fuck is this unaustralian shit, anyone been and can verify/falsify this? I remember being at the first one and it was honestly lovely, it was a nice little sonilumiere type deal.
I went to both the Circular Quay/Barangaroo part and the Central/Darling Harbour part. I thought the Central/Darling Harbour part was more fun with more interactive installations. The water and pyrotechnics show in the harbour was pretty cool too.
The drone show in Circular Quay was pretty fun also, but like a third of it was ads for superhero movies.
There seems to be much less small art pieces along the roads around The Rocks and Walsh Bay area compared to previous years, which I missed.
I’ll be going in a few weeks, haven’t been before. Commenting now for an anchor to return to and update. Yeah some parts like the botanical gardens need a paid ticket.
Edit: circular quay was so packed, the streets were mayhem.
I thought tomorrow (June 17) was the last night for most of vivid? I think some of the paid installations are going for longer though
