For mine, it’s the only safe place from the scary, scary thunder.

My cat demanded to be let outside once our first kid came home. He HATES our kids. Scared to death of them. He won’t come in the house if the kids are in here.
Hey, watch out for damp under there. Without proper airflow those sorts of beds can be a nightmare for trapping moisture when you sleep. Looks like the slats are a bit discoloured already, given enough time the mattress can go mouldy
Also, one of the slats is broken. Might be time for OP to look into a new bedframe.
