Saying “all in this group are evil” is the same argument used to gas Jews in WWII

Comparing German Jews in WWII to present day American law enforcement is an insult and you should be ashamed of yourself.

just because they’re not doing enough against this, doesn’t mean they don’t care or don’t try or even can try…

They’re not just “not doing enough”, they’re actively rooting out good cops from the force and punishing them for being good! While the bad cops continue being bad, all under the protection of their union! The system is corrupt from the top down, and its members fight to keep it that way!

With situations like these “it’s not that simple” is a much better statement than acab, which as much fun as it may be to say, is just dumb and short sighted

What’s dumb and short-sighted is downplaying the danger the American policing system poses with the same bullshit “they’re not all bad” argument we’ve all heard for years. Answer me this: if they’re not all bad, why do they keep getting worse?

they’re actively rooting out good cops from the force and punishing them for being good

Which is actually one reason I have the ACAB acronym. There are good cops, and they get shit from both ends either for not toeing the blue-line or just for being cops.

If somebody actually does get shot, the ACAB crew is out in full force while often ignoring the lengthy record of crime and violence of the involved - or even camera evidence - while stating it was obviously just a cop looking for somebody to shoot.

Fuckers are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy where nobody in their right mind would want to be a cop

Works for me. They enjoy far too much indemnity. It’s long past time they had to answer to the law they supposedly uphold.

But you missed the point. There are good cops. The problem is, they see the bad cops and choose their job over blowing the whistle. And given their line of work, that makes them spineless and complicit.

But how do you know they choose to not blow the whistle? Seems quite a number of things are coming to light where things WERE escalated to superiors or even government. These end up under gag-order while “under investigation” - often for years - which means that they reporting officer could be fined/jailed themselves for leaking it, and includes stuff like sexual assaults within the police force itself.

It’s a no-win situation for good cops, and calling them spineless and complicit without knowing the details of such just makes you an asshole.

This is the all in ACAB, right here. This is the point we’re trying to make, and you’re making it for us. The point is that the system of policing ensures that bad cops are protected and elevated and good cops are either silenced (thus becoming bad cops) or forced out. The fact that “it’s a no-win situation for good cops” is exactly what ACAB is saying.

Except that ALL means everyone, which would include the ones doing good by citizens, fighting against corrupt shit, and not quitting.

It’s not “all cops”, it’s the fucking system that corrupt.

It’s like making a discriminatory (racist/sexist/whatever) comment and then turning to a person who falls under that group and saying “but, uh, we don’t count you in that”, and plenty of people DO immediately turn shit on anyone just for being a cop.

What is the system made of? Who are the primary drivers? Don’t try to make this about racism, “cop” is not a race, it’s a conscious choice made by a knowing adult. You just said yourself that good cops, when they exist, either get corrupted or forced out. What does that leave? Bastards.
