I personally would love to see blizzard hunt down all abandoned projects that were being developed for vanilla wow and implement them into Season of Mastery like old Hyjal or the Emerald Dream.
I like the quest chains that take you to parts of the world that you don’t normally go. SoD has done a good job with that. Locking runes behind gold or rep grinds is not fun, and just annoying. Overall more exploration is always a good thing.
I love the quests! The shaman quests are amazing for that!
Fill in the gaps. Classic is fine, but there are so many tiny speed bumps. I don’t want things to be easier, keep that difficulty, but give me more pointers. I don’t want everything on a plate like Retail, but I have to resort to All The Things addon to find some quest hubs.
Make tanking runes in line with the rest. The first few runes (on my rogue) were fine and fun! Pick pocket this, go sneak there. The tank ones are “gimme 5 gold”. That’s boring as hell.

Object IDs from the API so Questie doesn’t have to wildly guess which one of the 300 “Wanted Poster” objects you are standing in front of to show you the quests it starts in the tooltip.
Free respecs in cities or even dual spec is all I want.
I expect this to be unpopular, but give me LFD and I’ll be happy as can be.
Running to dungeons sucks. That’s it. That’s my entire argument.
Free respec, on the fly without going to a trainer.
Area looting
No more mob tagging. Seriously, why? Competing for the same mob with 500 people is insane.
Built-in quest locations and map markers. No need for questie.
Customizable default UI. Let me move things.
Then once the QoL items, which exist in the retail client already anyway, are implemented you can start adding “new” instances, raids, etc.
At thst point, wouldn’t it just be retail?
Man I can’t wait for Battle for Azeroth Classic!
