Having never played the original System Shock, I played the demo of the remake and was blown away by how fun and involved it was, so I bought the full game. I still need to finish it, but it has a lot of charm and polish, and I really do hope they get to remake the second one at some point down the line.
The second one isn’t as hard to get into as the first one. The first one definitely feels more dated (mainly with the controls) but was still more fun to play than most AAA games I played in the last few years. That’s coming from someone that didn’t play it and started playing pc games with thief deadly shadows.
I think something closer to a demake would fit the horror tech aesthetic better. Give me those crunchy sprites and chunky framerates
