It seems like Liftoff has updated, this doesn’t work on Connect (the other app I’ve been using) and this was the first mp4(?) I’ve seen embedded on lemmy with working, just probably because it was the first one I saw with the updated Liftoff
Yes it’s direct link to mp4 file.
But someone also told me that he can’t see embedded media in his app and that it also doesn’t seem to work well for kbin users, so I also included the link in description for compatibility. I also noticed it doesn’t accept HTTP but it works with HTTPS. You can also embed audio files the same way. ![text](link)
E.g.: the Bulgarian Radio 1
Apparently, text should show when you hover your mouse over the media, but I am on a phone so I can’t test it. Edit: Doesn’t do anything, maybe it’s just for images?
And yes, I am the OP, but I couldn’t comment from my main account due to issue I explained here: https://sh.itjust.works/comment/1073033
Yes, this post is meant to be deleted.
My favorite is FileNow. Without account, file.coffee allows up to 15MB and with account up to 30MB. On the other hand FileNow allows uploading up to 300 files or 8GB at once with no account, you can set up automatic deletion and also download password. Downside is it doesn’t keep files permanently:
Is there a limit on how long files are stored?
When the server’s data capacity is filled, files will be deleted starting from the file with the oldest last download.
Files that are continuously downloaded will never go away.
@testaccount789, until now filecoffe has deleted nothing from my uploads. I use it often here in Mastodon, when I want to share big text or pdf files, which with the link open in a new tab (for images I use vgy.me with ShareX). Made in the EU (GDPR law). I’ll will take also a look of yours, anyway FileCoffee is a great service and 100% free.

@testaccount789 @NightFantom, try to share with https://file.coffee, private, secure and admits all type of files, documents, images and multimedia.

Which can vary greatly.
@testaccount789, your site is nice, but share userdata with Alphabet, doubleclick.net, google-analytics.com, google.com, googleadservices.com, googlesyndication.com, googletagmanager.com, googletagservices.com, gstatic.com.
Much more than FileCoffee

Jerboa still doesn’t show them embedded. Liftoff is kinda weird for me… the UI is nice, but the add instance feature is… confusing…
I agree, all of the apps I’ve tried have some good and bad points lol
Yeah, I use them interchangebly, lol.
