Whenever I try to search for a community, it’s a 50/50 wether I find it or not. Somehow it seems to relate to the lemmy instance aswell. For example vlemmy and lemmy.fmhy.ml struggle to find me_irl while feddit.de has no problems with that.

    I’m new here, so please take everything I’m saying with a huge grain of salt.

    I believe that the instance you signed up with needs to “federate” with the community/channel in question.

    Also, I think this is a bug, from what I’m reading on other communities.

    I’d like to encourage someone to weigh in and help painting a better picture of the situation :)

    I guess that is how it works for now. Probably some wonky instance connection issue. Would need some bugfix.
