Arteta chose Zinchenko over Kiwior. But, if he’d had either Timber or Tomiyasu I suspect one of them would have started. Zinchenko was useful in midfield in this game, but he was such a liability in defense, especially against Salah. Liverpool were targeting him all game.
It seems kinda mad that they’d put Zinchenko on Salah but the fact that we only had that one bad moment it speaks to the amazing job that Rice, Saliba, and Gabriel did to deal with all the other crises on that side and when Mo moved inside.
