Overall, the costume design is pretty good. The outfits do look a bit too “new”, but that is common with a lot of these new shows.

The fabric has texture and color without being flashy. Perhaps the water tribe outfit has a bit too much flair for a poor village, but it does look good, I guess if you’ve got the time you can do whatever. I like that they actually went with the full makeup on Suki, love the red hair dangles too. They pop with the red eye liner.

While I’m no expert, the armor looks believable. No outdated spiky shoulders, everything looks moveable and seems to cover vital points, except for Jun’s upper arms…I’m sure the YouTube armor reviewers will do a proper analysis once the show comes out.

I’m not a fan of the woman beside Suki, her outfit is much too detailed to fit in with the rest. The fur texture looks off, but without the flowers the outfit would be okay. With the high detailed flowers/branches and cheap fur texture it looks like something that came out of Walmart, not a small village at the edge of the earth kingdom.

I’m hoping that it’s Hei Bai, when Aang meditates in the burnt forest, and he appears.

The angle is tough, while a great shot of Aang, whatever creature that is doesn’t look good directly from the front.

I like the actors for Aang and Katara, but Sokka doesn’t really fit to me. I’ll need to wait till we see him in action before passing judgement of course
