After waiting 5 months for my order I finally got a copy and boy does it live up to the hype. What a terrific way to map the feeling of racing a car around the track into a boardgame. Pretty easy to teach too, had both my wife and my 10-year-old playing within 10 minutes. Lots of stuff in the box as well to expand the base playing experience.

While I’m not super into the vintage formula 1 theme, the gameplay really looks neat and I dig the elegant engine heat mechanic!
I’m not going to get the game myself but if a friend brought it to the table I’d certainly jump at the opportunity to give it a go. :)

The theme is a big turnoff for me too, which is a shame because I think I’d really like the game.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I am annoyed at myself for theme being so important for me to the detriment of enjoying great mechanics and a fun gameplay loop.

But “the heart wants what it wants” as a friend of mine is always saying.

Love Heat. Have played through a 4-player campaign (3 races I think?) and want to play more.

One interesting thing after a couple of plays is that this game is really good for mismatched skill levels. You can fairly easily handicap the game, by either taking away heat from the better players or adding heat to the less capable players at the start of the game. Or doing the opposite with stress cards.

This game is super good. Our group has played it a ton. I’m a huge fan and I want to do a campaign mode. Even if you lose, it’s still a blast.
