There is always an adage, warning or “paradox” to explain everything. I’ve heard the “penny wise, pound foolish” right after the exact opposite saying which was basically “who doesn’t save a penny, doesn’t have a pound”.

The “nazi bar” is basically a slippery slope fallacy. First of all, not every republican is a nazi, just as not every democrat is violent antifa. All it is, is as I mentioned - tribalism to dehumanize “the other” to simplify a worldview. You don’t win votes by dehumanizing people.

You seem to think being against fascism is a bad thing. That is why people are calling you a fascist.

No, I am against calling every republican / conservative a fascist. Just as I am against calling every democrat “violent antifa”. In your post, you exhibit the exact same thing I am talking about in this thread - reducing a person to “fascist”. Especially for stating such simple claims as “don’t divide into shitty tribes”.

The difference being that Republicans actually have a candidate (their main candidate in fact) saying that he’ll be a dictator for a day and they have elected people supporting him.

Meanwhile the Democrats are all right of center by the standards of any other western democracy and none of them are far left or promoting totalitarianism or other extremist ideals that are associated with what people talk about when they mention “antifa”.

I never was talking about candidates - I was talking about “republicans”. Regular people like you and I, just having other issues be the ones they focus on and vote for.

Also, let’s not act as if candidates for both republicans and democrats aren’t pieces of shit. The best choice right now is third party anyways.

That’s what I’m saying, if you support fascists then you also are a fascist.

By your logic, Biden is a fascist. See how looking at the world in absolutes doesn’t make sense?

Crazy how quickly someone who refutes generalizations and tries to avoid a polarized view of politics can be considered a fascist in some circles.

The decline of democracy and the rise of fascism might be a big menace in the contemporary world, but the fact that it’s becoming impossible to express a nuanced opinion is not far behind.
