Of course the outcome of the vote has no effect on the world, and whether you’re voting for one side or the other it’s the streamer (and twitch) who get paid, but people are willing to pay good money for that little dopamine hit of seeing their side of an issue they care about win something. I feel like they’re trying to turn Twitter into; a place where people pay some small monthly token to be agreed with and to feel like they’re in the majority. Of course, an environment like that is almost always going to end up right wing because if Trump taught us anything it’s that right wingers will buy literally anything that validates their beliefs.
